Childcare: UC center steps in to save NKU daycare

University of Cincinnati’s childcare center has partnered to take over the Early Childhood Center on campus, NKU announced Thursday. Without a bid, the center was slated to close in June.

One week after students and staff rallied against state budget cuts, two dozen students marched outside the Student Union to save the Early Childhood Center, a program slated to close June 1 due to budget pressures that have existed since 2015.
As student Alex Voland collected student signatures to 'Save the Early Childhood Center,' she recalled one student saying that they would miss the kids on campus, laughing and playing. The center is slated to close June 1.
