Students read aloud the principles associated with the holiday.

Booths were set up in the back of University Ballroom for merchants to sell item such as earrings, table settings, and necklaces.

Tracy Stokes, the director of African-American programs and services, is there to advise student not only in academia, but in their personal lives as well.

Jayren Andrews, a freshman at NKU, performed spoken word layered in social commentary and contemplation at the event. He goes by Juice, which stands for Jayren Utilized Intelligence created enlightenment.

The clothing from the event came from Innovative Black Station, Julie's consignment shop and Endexus Creations.

John Legend and Common song "Glory" was performed prior to the fashion show. The goal of the fashion show was to spotlight black culture and fashion in a positive atmosphere.

The models were chosen by a casting call. Aside from gathering models for the event, the preparation took months of work, according to e-board members.

Models took a break after the event to celebrate and socialize with one another, still wearing clothes that they had modeled earlier in the night.

Behind the scenes, models got ready for each set. Clothes everywhere. Members of BWO helped organize the models to keep the event running smoothly.

Outside of the SU Ballroom, a photo booth was set up. The booth provided props to pose with.

The night also featured business section. Throughout the night, some models struck dance moves or fraternity symbols while making their way down the catwalk

The African Student Union performed before the African culture section of the night.

During the African culture section of the night, younger models took the stage. The ethnic African dresses were made by Endexus Designs.

The hosts announced the African culture section as going back to the motherland. The clothing, splashed in vivid colors and in an array of ethnic African patterns, is from Endexus Designs.
