Tuesday, March 18
Women’s golf competed in Nevel Meade Collegiate in Prospect KY placing sixth. Eva Maley led the Norse with a top-10 finish at the event. Maley shot 79-81 — 160 and was the highest finisher out of the two Horizon League schools at the event. Kenna Jenkinson finished right behind T-11th. Jenkinson shot 81-80 — 161 across 36 holes. Ella Hardy placed 22nd in her homecoming, firing 84-80—164. Reagan Nolan finished behind Hardy with a 165 total (79-86). Gianna White shot 84 in both rounds for a 168 and a T-25 finish. Gracie Baun finished T-29, shooting 85-89—174.
Softball lost to the Louisville Cardinals 15-4. NKU used all three pitchers in the game, each pitching two innings. Brooklyn Ballis started and was relieved by Alicia Flores in the third and Kyndall Ford relieved the senior to finish the contest. The Norse recorded seven hits in the game, all singles, all coming between the third and fourth innings. Mack Brow led the way offensively with a 2-2 day at the plate.
Baseball lost to number 16 ranked Louisville Cardinals on the road at 11-1. Bobby Bartlett opened for the Norse and pitched two innings. Noah Sackenheim and Gerald Hanson were highlights, as the pair combined for 3.0 scoreless innings and three strikeouts. In the batter’s box, Logen Devenport finished 1-3 with a solo homer, plating the lone run for the Norse. Brennan Rowe finished 2-3 and Nolan Sparks had a hit as well. The Norse struggled to find a rhythm over the plate, only getting four hits.
Friday, March 21
Men’s and Women’s track and field competed in the Blizzard Buster with four Norse claiming victory. Women’s side, Cameron Bitterman won the 200m race by nearly half a second, finishing in 24.89. Olivia Kennedy won the 400m race in 58.03. Lacey Klare grabbed a second-place finish in the 100m hurdles, running a 15.27. Kayla Willging finished fifth in the pole vault clearing a mark of 3.45m. Grace Biddle (4:45.33) finished fifth in the 1500m race out of 31 competitors. Julia Pohl finished fifth in high jump, clearing 1.65m, along with three other athletes. On the men’s side, NKU’s distance duo of Natnael Weldemichael (8:37.54) and Colton O’Hara (8:38.42) finished first and second in the 3000m run. Brayden Holland won the 400m dash in a blistering 50.71. He also finished seventh in the 800m, running a 1:58.58. Jacob Line finished second in the men’s 1500m run, with a time of 4:00.82. Nathan Ruth finished third in the men’s steeplechase, finishing in 9:54.21. Charlie Casey finished fifth in the 110m hurdles, with a time of 16.40. In field events, Evan Talley grabbed a fourth-place finish in the triple jump (12.69m) while Josh Brockman finished fourth in pole vault (3.90m).
Baseball fell in the 9th inning to Oakland 7-6. Kaden Echeman started on the mound for the Norse and pitched six innings, allowed four runs, three earned on five hits and a pair of walks. Echeman struck out seven batters. Logan Wilson pitched a scoreless inning out of the bullpen. Shawn Parnell closed out the game for the Norse. Josh Williams led the Norse with a 3-4 day, hitting a home run and driving in a pair. Logen Devenport finished 1-4 with a pair of RBIs. Jake Paulick had two hits. Nolan Sparks had an RBI. Brennan Rowe homered as part of a 1-4 day. Jake Altman scored a run and drew two walks.
Softball picked up both games in the doubleheader against Oakland. First game: NKU came out swinging as four Norse recorded multiple hits on the day, going 11-31 at the plate. Brielle DiMemmo went 2-3 with a triple and a pair of RBIs. Jena Rhoads went 2-3 with a double, scoring twice and drawing a walk. Emma Ginn batted 2-3 with a double, driving in two runs and scoring one. Olivia Pastin went 2-4 in game one with a double, driving in one run and scoring once. Brooklyn Ballis went the full seven innings and improved to 5-7 on the season. She struck out five while allowing one walk, two runs and nine hits.
Second game: Alicia Flores was dominant in the circle again, picking up her third conference victory and sixth of the season. The senior allowed just a pair of hits, no walks and fanned six batters. Flores is holding opponents to a .075 batting average and has allowed just three runs in 13 innings of work in conference play. NKU recorded ten hits from eight different batters, including multi-hit games from Trinity Robertson and Stella Wulker. Robertson went 2-4 with a solo home run to lead off the second inning. Wulker batted 2-4 with a solo home run and totaled two RBIs and two runs scored. DiMemmo hit another triple in game two, going 1-3.
Saturday. March 22
Baseball lost Oakland on the road 10-0. Conner Linn got the start for the Norse, throwing five innings while allowing four runs on three hits and three walks. Linn struck out six. Logen Devenport led the Norse in the batter’s box and finished 2-4 with a double. Gabe Miranda had a 1-4 day. Josh Williams finished 1-3.
Men’s tennis lost to Cleveland State 7-0.

Baseball won against Oakland 13-3. Aaron Boster took the ball and delivered for the Norse. Boster threw five innings striking out four batters. Shawn Parnell provided big innings out of the bullpen with three perfect frames. Evan Fry finished off the Grizzlies, striking out batters in the ninth. Josh Williams starred for the Norse, finishing 3-5 with six RBIs. Williams belted a grand slam in the win. Gabe Miranda finished with a 2-6, three RBI’s day. Tyler Shaneyfelt posted three hits and stole three bases, scoring all three times he reached base. Nolan Sparks had a pair of hits in the win. Logen Devenport finished 2-5 with a pair of walks, two runs scored, a stolen base and an RBI.
Softball beat Oakland 8-3 completing their second sweep of the season. Kyndall Ford earned her third win of the season, going four innings with three strikeouts, allowing four hits, a walk and two runs. Alicia Flores locked it down with a three-inning save, her first of the season. Flores struck out a pair of batters while only allowing one hit, two walks and a single run. Offensively, five different Norse recorded seven NKU hits, with five coming in the first inning. Trinity Robertson had the lone extra-base hit for the Norse, as she finished 2-4 with a double, one RBI and one run scored. Stella Wulker went 2-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
