Tuesday, March 4
Baseball beats Indiana on the road 13-11. Bobby Bartlett got the start for NKU, throwing three innings and allowing just two runs, one earned on four hits. Gerald Hanson was a highlight for the Norse, throwing two innings of scoreless baseball. Aaron Massie picked up his second of the year with a scoreless ninth. In the batter’s box, Josh Williams brought the power with a pair of home runs as part of a 3-5, five RBI day. Williams hit a two-run homer and a three-run homer in the win. Brennan Rowe finished a homer shy of the cycle, finishing 4-6 with two RBI. Logen Devenport finished 1-4 with an RBI. Gabe Miranda was 2-4 with a triple and two RBI. Tyler Shaneyfelt reached base four times. Jake Paulick had a pair of doubles and two RBI. Marcus Harrison finished 2-3 with a walk drawn.
Men’s basketball won against Detroit Mercy in the first round of the Horizon League tournament 99-75. Dan Gherezgher led NKU in scoring finishing with 19 points on 5-11 shooting, hitting three shots behind the arc and shooting a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line. Trey Robinson scored 18 points, dishing out five assists, grabbing three boards and three steals. Robinson led the team at the free throw line, finishing 7-8. Josh Dilling knocked down five threes, scoring 16 points. Sam Vinson scored nine points, had six assists and grabbed three rebounds. LJ Wells dominated in the paint, grabbing six offensive rebounds and nine total while scoring 16 points, Wells hit a three and had a pair of steals. NKU shot 51.6% from the field, scoring 99 points tying the most ever for the Norse in a Horizon League Tournament game.
Thursday, March 6
Women’s basketball lost to Robert Morris on the road in the quarterfinals of the Horizon League tournament 70-57. Halle Idowu led the Norse with 15 points and eight rebounds. She also knocked down three triples, which tied a season-high. Macey Blevins finished with 12 points, three rebounds and two steals. Abby Wolterman scored 10 points, grabbed four rebounds and dished out three assists. Mya Meredith ended up with nine points and five rebounds. NKU hung with RMU the whole game but with four minutes to go, they struggled to hit shots as they made three points.
Men’s basketball lost to Cleveland State on the road in the quarterfinals of the Horizon League tournament 68-63. Dan Gherezgher scored 18 points, hitting 4-8 3PT shots. LJ Wells was a factor on the inside, scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Keeyan Itejere finished with 13 points and eight rebounds. NKU won the rebounding battle 37-36 and grabbed 20 offensive rebounds. NKU struggled from inside the arc as they shot 12-37. Cleveland State’s defense was rough as seniors Trey Robinson and Sam Vinson struggled.
Friday, March 7
Men’s tennis swept Thomas More 7-0.

Baseball lost to Eastern Illinois 8-5. Kaden Echeman started for the Norse; he threw four innings and allowed only two hits, but gave up four runs, two earned and walked four batters. Echeman finished with five strikeouts. Jake Johnson and Gerald Hanson were bright spots out of the bullpen, combining for three shutout innings. Jake Altman had a day for the Norse, finishing 3-4 with an RBI. Gabe Miranda had a two-hit day, finishing 2-4 with a double and two RBI. Logen Devenport launched his third home run of the season as part of a 2-4 day.
Saturday, March 8
Softball dropped both games in the doubleheader to Michigan State 6-0 and Miami OH 13-4 in the Miami Tournament in Oxford, Ohio.
First game: Olivia Pastin went 1-3 at the plate with a double. Three other Norse recorded a hit as Stella Wulker, Trinity Robertson and Brielle DiMemmo all went 1-3. Brooklyn Ballis pitched six innings, allowing ten hits and six runs striking out three batters.
Second game: Pastin went 2-3 with a two-run single in the fourth. Jena Rhoads went 2-3 at the plate with a pair of singles, scoring one run. Robertson went 1-2 with a two-run double in the fourth. Brooke Keltner hit 1-3 with a single. All four Norse runs came in the fifth inning of their second game. NKU struggled to generate some offense over the plate, only scoring 4 runs throughout two games.
Baseball beat Eastern Illinois 6-5. Conner Linn got the start for NKU; he threw 5 innings, allowing three runs, two earned on three hits and a walk. Linn struck out a season-high eight batters. Evan Fry replaced Linn and threw 2 innings, allowing a pair of runs and striking out four. Aaron Massie got the win, throwing one inning and allowing one run. Logen Devenport once again starred for NKU, finishing 3-4 with a double, a homer and a pair of RBI. He scored three times and also stole two bases. Jake Paulick’s only official at-bat was a walk-off home run to win the game. He finished 1-1. Paulick had a sacrifice fly and was hit by three pitches. Josh Williams finished 2-3. Brennan Rowe finished 2-4. Jake Altman had a double as part of a 1-3 day.
Sunday, March 9
Softball lost another double header in the Miami Tournament losing Michigan State 10-1 and Miami OH 8-0.
First game: Brooke Keltner hit her first collegiate home run in the fifth inning, finishing 1-2 in the game. Jena Rhoads and Campbell Beatty also collected hits in the game, with Rhoads going 1-3 and Beatty finishing 1-2. Kyndall Ford relieved Flores after three, allowing one run and one hit while striking out a pair in two innings of work.
Second game: NKU had just two hits in the game, as Stella Wulker went 1-3 with a double and Marley Gearld finished 1-2. Brooklyn Ballis struck out five in five innings of work. She dropped to 4-5 with the loss. The Norse struggled on offense in this tournament as they collected 5 runs throughout four games.
Baseball won against Eastern Illinois 8-7. Aaron Boster started for the Norse, giving up six runs, three earned on five hits and three walks. Boster had six strikeouts. Noah Sackenheim allowed just one run on two hits, striking out four. Shawn Parnell, Bobby Bartlett and Aaron Massie combined for five shutout innings for the Norse. Braydon Rogers finished 2-6 with a double and an RBI. Nolan Sparks had a 3-4 showing with a triple, three runs scored and an RBI. Gabe Miranda finished 2-5 and tied the game with a solo homer in the ninth. Josh Williams led NKU in RBI with two as part of a 2-4 day. Brennan Rowe finished 2-4 with an RBI. Jake Altman finished 1-4 with an RBI single. Logen Devenport stole a base and Sparks stole two. Devenport finished 1-4 with an RBI.
