Tuesday, Feb. 25
Baseball beat Dayton 16-14 at home. Bobby Bartlett started the game for the Norse, pitching 2.2 innings and allowing four runs, three earned on two walks and three hits. Bartlett had three strikeouts. MJ Castaneda threw 1.1 innings, allowing two runs. Jake Johnson did not allow an earned run in his inning of work. Evan Fry came out of the bullpen in the seventh, throwing 2.2 innings without allowing a baserunner and striking out four. NKU racked up 16 runs on 13 hits. Five different Norse had multi-hit games, and eight different Norse had at least one hit. Tyler Shaneyfelt, Logen Devenport and Gabe Miranda each hit home runs, with Miranda hitting a pair. All three Norse had three or more RBIs, with Davenport leading the team with four. Braydon Rogers finished 2-4 with three RBIs. NKU drew seven walks and were hit by five pitches. Sam Bond was hit by three pitches, including once with the bases loaded. NKU stole six bases in the win with Nolan Sparks stealing three, Shaneyfelt two and Devenport one.
Wednesday, Feb. 26
Women’s tennis won against Eastern Illinois 7-0, completing their first sweep of the season.

Thursday, Feb. 27
Men’s basketball beat Purdue Fort Wayne 79-74. Trey Robinson led all scorers on the night, dropping 25 points on 10-17 shooting. Robinson got it done on the defensive end, blocking a pair of shots and registering three steals. Dan Gherezgher Jr. finished with 22 points, three assists and a pair of boards. He was key down the stretch, scoring 10 points in the final 6:28 of play. LJ Wells provided big minutes off the bench, posting his second double-double of the season. Wells dominated, scoring 17 points and grabbing 13 rebounds, tying his season-high. Wells finished 8-11 from the field. Despite foul trouble, Keeyan Itejere scored four points and grabbed five boards. Sam Vinson scored just two points, but grabbed eight rebounds, dished out four assists, blocked two shots and came up with a steal. The game featured 28 lead changes and was tied eight times.
Women’s basketball lost to Detroit Mercy 81-75. Mya Meredith led the Norse with a 21-point, six-rebound performance. She went 7-11 from the field and 5-6 from the free-throw line. Halle Idowu registered a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Macey Blevins stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points, five rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block. Kamora Morgan scored in double figures for the second time in her last 13 games, marking it her eighth such game of the year. Jaci Jones dished out seven assists, one shy of a season-high. NKU struggled on both ends of the floor in the first half, shooting just 28.1% from the field. They mounted a comeback but fell short at the end.
Friday, Feb. 28
Women’s tennis beat Thomas More 7-0, winning their second-straight match.

Softball lost both games in a double header to number 22-ranked Florida Atlantic and to Austin Peay in the Governor’s Classic in Clarksville, Tenn. The first game: the Norse lost 11-2. Olivia Pastin finished 1-3 with an RBI double. Stella Wulker went 1-2 with a double and scored a run. Marlee Loudermilk, Jena Rhoads and Emma Ginn all recorded singles. Second game: the Nose lost 8–0. Campbell Beatty went 2-3 with a double. Stella Wulker went 1-2 with a double off the wall. Rhoads and Gearld both hit singles.
Baseball took one game of the double header against Miami (OH). The first game: NKU lost 7-1. Kaden Echeman took the ball in game one for the Norse and pitched to a no-decision. Echeman threw five innings, allowing just one run on three hits and a walk. The righty struck out eight batters. Out of the bullpen, Shawn Parnell and Carson French combined for 1.2 scoreless innings. In the batter’s box, NKU managed just five hits, with the lone run coming on a solo homer by Jake Paulick in the sixth inning. NKU left 10 runners on in the loss. The second game: NKU’s offense exploded early, plating eight runs in the second inning and four in the third. Overall, NKU scored 19 runs on 21 hits, drawing six walks. Logen Devenport showed out for NKU, finishing the game 5-5 with a home run, two doubles, four RBIs and two stolen bases. Devenport was one of seven Norse with a multi-hit game. Tyler Shaneyfelt finished 3-7 with a pair of runs scored and an RBI. Gabe Mirada finished 2-5 with an RBI. Jake Paulick had a 2-4 day with three RBIs. Josh Williams homered as part of a 3–4, four RBI performance. Sam Bond had three hits and a pair of RBIs. Brennan Rowe finished 2-5 with a pair of RBIs. Evan Fry picked up the win out of the bullpen.
Saturday, March 1
Men’s tennis lost to Northwestern 6-1. Jacob Rouleau-Mailly emerged as the lone victor, He moved to 2-4 on the year in singles matches.

Softball split the double header, losing to Florida Atlantic 10-1 and winning against Morehead State 10-5 in the Governors Classic in Clarksville, Tenn. First game: Jena Rhoads had two of NKU’s four hits on the day, going 2-3 with a pair of singles and scoring the first run of the game. Trinity Robertson went 1-1 with a double. Mack Brow went 1-2 at the plate. Second game: Brooklyn Ballis got the start in the circle for NKU, earning her fourth complete-game of the season. Ballis struck out seven batters. Four different Norse recorded two hits as the Norse went 11-30 from the plate, drawing eight walks. Brielle DiMemmo, Marley Gearld, Brooke Keltner and Olivia Pastin all had two hits in the win. Gearld hit a triple, while Keltner and DiMemmo both had doubles. Keltner also stole a base. Stella Wulker, Robertson and Campbell Beatty each recorded one hit in the game. Wulker recorded a team-high three RBIs.

Men’s basketball beat Youngstown State at home 88-79. Four Norse finished in double figures, led by Trey Robinson’s 24-point, seven-rebound day. Robinson finished 6-9 from the field and 11-14 from the foul line. Josh Dilling finished with 23 points, tying his season-high for three point shots made with seven. Dilling grabbed five boards and dished out a pair of assists. Sam Vinson had another all-around performance, posting 12 points, three rebounds, six assists, two steals and a block in the win. Keeyan Itejere shot a perfect 6-6 from the floor as part of his 12 points, five rebounds and two blocks. Dan Gherezgher Jr. hit the dagger for the Norse with a big three down the stretch. Gherezgher finished with nine points and four rebounds.
Women’s basketball beat Oakland 61-58 to clinch the fifth seed. Macey Blevins led the Norse with 15 points, going 6-7 on free throws. She added three rebounds and two assists. Abby Wolterman dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds, as eight of her rebounds came on offense. NKU had 11 second-chance points in the game. Wolterman also tallied two steals and a block. Mya Meredith scored 11 points and grabbed five rebounds. It marked her 14th game in double figures out of her last 17 games. Halle Idowu put up eight points, five rebounds, a block and a steal. Jaci Jones had six points, five rebounds, three steals, two assists and a block. The Norse held Oakland to 20 points in the first half, holding them down on defense. NKU was up by 12 with five minutes left. Oakland tried to mount a comeback but didn’t get it done.
Stunt lost to Mercyhurst 22-0 , then lost to Central Michigan 21-0.
Sunday, March 2
Women’s and men’s track and field competed at the Horizon League championships in Fort Wayne, with both teams placing 6th. Olivia Kennedy wrote her name into the conference record book. The junior set not only a new personal best in the 800m finals, but broke a 23-year long-standing record at the league’s indoor championships, earning a conference title for the Norse. Kennedy ran a time of 2:12.04 in the 800m finals. Cameron Bitterman recorded a second-place finish in the 400m run, running a 56.88 and falling just 0.03 seconds short of a conference title. NKU’s 4x400m relay squad earned a second-place podium finish with a time of 3:53.03. Julia Pohl finished in third in the high jump, leaping 1.66m. Kaden Gardner had a performance in the Heptathlon, winning the high jump at 1.94m and finishing third overall in the event. Colton O’Hara earned seven points for the Norse, finishing fourth in the 3000m run (8:33.23) and grabbing a seventh-place finish in the 5000m (14:36.14). Jacob Messer (1:56.00) and Brady Messer (2:01.16) both earned points in the 800m, finishing seventh and eighth in the finals, respectively. Alden Williams lept 12.93m in the triple jump, an eighth-place finish.
Stunt lost to Ashland 20-0.
Baseball lost to Miami (OH) 6-5. Aaron Boster got the start for NKU and pitched 3.2 innings. Boster allowed three runs on five hits and four walks, striking out two. Out of the bullpen, Jake Johnson and Shawn Parnell combined for 4.1 innings of one-run ball. Parnell recorded four strikeouts. Logan Wilson allowed a hit and a walk, and the winning runs and neither earned. In the batter’s box, six Norse posted a hit with multi-hit efforts from Gabe Miranda and Jake Paulick. Miranda finished 3-5 with a home run and two RBIs. Paulick drove in three runs, finishing 2-4 with a walk and a two-run double.
Softball lost to Austin Peay 3-2 in the Governor’s Classic in Clarksville, Tenn. Campbell Beatty went 2-4 at the plate, including a game-tying RBI single in the fifth inning. Olivia Pastin had a 2-4 day with a double. Brooke Keltner went 1-3 with an RBI double. Marley Gearld went 1-2 with a walk.
