Wednesday, Feb. 5
Men’s basketball beat Cleveland State at home 85-75. Dan Gherezgher Jr. had a great night scoring a season-high 26 points on 10-14 shooting. Sam Vinson had an all-around game, scoring 13 points, grabbing seven rebounds, dishing out seven assists and adding four steals. Josh Dilling knocked down three 3-pointers scoring 14 points. LJ Wells scored 13 points off the bench while grabbing seven boards. Trey Robinson finished with a near double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing eight rebounds. NKU shot 51% from the field in the game. The Norse won the rebounding battle 34-29, grabbing 12 offensive rebounds and scoring 21 second-chance points.
Friday, Feb. 7
Softball won the double header beating George Washington 5-2. Then beat Presbyterian 10-2 at the Pinnacle Blue Hose Invitational. First game: Brooklyn Ballis allowed seven hits, three walks, and two earned runs. Ballis also struck out a pair of batters. Three Norse recorded multiple hits Jena Rhoads (2-5), Olivia Pastin (2-4), and Lexy Morris (2-4). NKU recorded nine hits in the game, all of those hits being singles. The Norse’s offense recorded more walks than strikeouts, drawing six bases on balls compared to five strikeouts.
Second game: Four Norse recorded multi-hit games as NKU powered through. Jena Rhoads (2-5, 3B), Campbell Beatty (2-4, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R), Stella Wulker (2-4, HR, 2 RBI) and Charly Koehler (2-2, 2 R) all had great performances. NKU recorded five extra-base hits. Pastin and Morris, who both hit doubles, joined Rhoads, Beatty and Wulker in that club. Alicia Flores looked dominant on the mound in her first game since February 17, 2024. Flores struck out six in six innings, allowing four hits and four walks.
Women’s tennis fell against Western Kentucky 7-0.

Saturday, Feb. 8
Men’s and women’s track and field competed in the Gem City Invitational getting on the podium for multiple events. Stetson Childress claimed a victory in the men’s 5000m race with a time of 15:19.22. Jacob Line also claimed a distance victory, running an 8:37.11 in the men’s 3000m run. The Northern Kentucky Women triumphed in the 4×400 relay, running a 3:51.82. Cameron Bitterman finished in second in the women’s 400m dash, running a 56.49. Olivia Kennedy followed her in fourth, running a 57.16. Alden Williams (6.62m) and Kaden Gardner (6.55m) earned podium finishes in the long jump, finishing in second and third, respectively. Williams also finished second in the triple jump, leaping 12.88m. Both of Northern Kentucky’s men’s teams finished in the top four in the 4×400 relay, grabbing third and fourth-place finishes. Kayla Willging lept 3.40m in the pole vault, a fourth-place finish. Meredith Goff nabbed a fifth-place finish in the women’s 200m dash, while Madison McDaniel followed her up with a time of 25.98. Lacey Klare finished in sixth place in the 60m hurdles, running a 9.43. Brittany Arnold (5:11.57) and Macie Radcliffe (5:12.31) finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in the women’s mile. Grace Biddle nabbed a seventh-place finish in the 800m run, finishing in 2:15.79. Four Norse finished in the top ten in the men’s 800m run, as Brayden Holland (1:55.81), Jacob Messer (1:55.86), Gregory Beard (1:56.52), and Preston Winiger (1:57.08) finished in sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth, respectively.
Men’s triathlon competed at Ohio State’s Indoor Triathlon. Frederik Smal covered 775 yards over 10 mins, a race 2nd best 8.69 miles on the 20 min bike, and 2 miles on the 15 min run. Will Griffith covered a race-best 3rd 825 yards over 10 mins, 7.72 miles on the 20 min bike, and 2.13 miles on the 15 min run. Johannes Smal covered 550 yards over 10 mins in the swim, 7.08 miles on the 20 min bike, and 2 miles on the 15 min run. Frederik Smal placed 6th, Will Griffith placed 10th and Johannes Smal placed 30th.
Softball won another doubled header beating Morehead State 11-0 and Presbyterian 11-4 at the Pinnacle Blue Hose Invitational. First game: Olivia Pastin hit for the fence for the first time this season, hitting a two-run shot in the fifth inning. She finished 2-3 on the day and also drew a walk. Alicia Flores allowed just three hits and a walk in 4 innings. Freshman Kyndall Ford relieved her in the fifth and threw a couple of pitches, allowing one hit. Campbell Beatty went 3-4 with a double, two RBI, and two runs. Stella Wulker went 2-3 with a double and an RBI single. Lexy Morris hit a two-RBI double in NKU’s big fifth inning. Second game: Four Norse recorded a multi-hit game, as Campbell Beatty (2-5, 3 RBI), Olivia Pastin (2-4), Brooke Keltner (2-2, 2B, 3 R), and Charly Koeler (2-3), all had great days at the plate. Jena Rhoads (3B) and Emma Ginn (2B) recorded extra-base hits. Brooklyn Ballis delivered another complete game win, striking out five and walking zero in seven innings of work. NKU walked more than they struck out, as they have done in every game in 2025. This is the best start for the Norse Softball as they are 4-0 for the first time since 2005
Men’s Basketball lost to Robert Morris on homecoming night 81-76. Trey Robinson led the Norse with 19 points, shooting 9-15 from the field. Josh Dilling scored 17, shooting 5-6 from three-point range. Dan Gherezgher finished with 14 points and six assists. Sam Vinson scored 12 points, grabbing six rebounds and three assists before fouling out.
Women’s Basketball beat IU-Indy 82-79. The first quarter started quickly as both teams scored right away but after trading baskets back and forth the Norse were down early 21-12. The Norse inched their way back ending the quarter down by five 27-22. The second quarter is where the game slowed down, after some mad baskets and a run by the Norse they found themselves taking the lead with a layup 35-34. IU-Idy would take the lead right back and retain it for the rest of the quarter, IU-Indy went into the locker room with a two-point lead 41-39. After half time the game saw more action from both teams as they kept trading baskets until the Nore tied it up at 56. The Jags would get their six-point lead back in just seconds. The game remained close throughout the third with IU-Indy retaining their two-point lead going into the fourth quarter 68-66. Once again the game was a show as both teams kept trading baskets adding three lead changes. The game was all tied up at 79, Halle Idowu grabbed the offensive rebound with seven seconds left as she pivoted around she put up a tough shot over two defenders and she hit the layup taking the lead. She sealed the game with a steal on the next possession. Macey Blevins dropped 17 points, four assists, three rebounds, and three steals. Mya Meredith tallied a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, also dishing out three assists, recording two steals and a block before fouling out late in the game. Kamora Morgan and Anna Hamilton also finished in double figures, as Morgan scored 14 while Hamilton put up 11. Abby Wolterman grabbed 11 rebounds, including five on the offensive end. NKU is now 3-0 when Wolterman records five or more offensive boards. NKU outrebounded IU Indy as a team 39-28.
Men’s and women’s tennis both went up against Southern Indiana as the men lost 4-2 but the women won 6-1.

Sunday, Feb. 9
Softball lost to George Washington at the Pinnacle Blue Hose Invitational 3-0. NKU recorded just four hits in the game, as four different hitters finished 1-3. Campbell Beatty and Lexy Morris hit doubles, while Stella Wulker hit a triple. Alicia Flores got the start in the circle, but only pitched two innings. She allowed one earned run, one hit which was a solo home run, one walk, and struck out a batter. Kyndall Ford relieved Flores in the third, and she pitched the rest of the way. The freshman struck out four and allowed just one earned run, allowing seven hits.
