Wednesday, Dec. 11
Men’s basketball beat the University of the Cumberlands 98-79. The Norse had six players score in double figures. Trey Robinson led the way with 25, while Josh Dilling had 17, LJ Wells 14, Randall Pettus 11, Keeyan Itejere 10, and Jeramiah Israel finished with 10 points. Josh Dilling’s 10 assists marked a season-high and career-high, which made him the first Norse since last season when Michael Bradley posted 10 assists in a game. NKU dominated on the glass, 48-21 with 18 offensive rebounds. NKU’s 98 points are the most the Norse have scored in a game this year, and the highest total since scoring 99 vs. Wright State in the Horizon League quarter finals last season. NKU shot 57% from the field, and 40% from beyond the arc. Both Dilling and Hubertas Pivorius made multiple threes.
Sunday, Dec. 15
Men’s basketball won against Norfolk State 71-62. Josh Dilling off the bench drilled seven three’s on 11 attempts from beyond the arc for a season-high 22 points. Dilling added five boards and two assists and did not turn over the ball. Sam Vinson scored 21 points, adding four rebounds, five assists and three steals to his stat line. Vinson shot 4-5 from the field and drew eight fouls, shooting 13-15 from the free throw line. LJ Wells’ 10 point, nine rebound effort gave him a near double-double. However, Wells had a pair of assists and four blocked shots. Keeyan Itejere had a solid afternoon, posting eight points, seven rebounds and three blocks. NKU posted eight blocks in the game playing great defense. They also had 10 offensive rebounds, winning the rebounding battle 35-32.
Women’s basketball lost against Ball State 77-51. Jaci Jones led the way for the Norse, putting up 16 points, a career-high. Half of her points came at the free throw line where she shot a perfect 8-8. Jones added three rebounds and three assists to an efficient scoring night. Kalissa Lacy finished with nine points and five rebounds, including three on the offensive glass. Kamora Morgan scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds. She also recorded a pair of steals. The Norse shot 14-16 collectively at the line, more than doubling the Cardinals’ total of made free throws.
