Tuesday, Sept. 10
- Men’s golf finished the tournament in seventh place as a team at two over par. Zach Beard led NKU in the 54-hole event finishing T-6th at -5 for the tournament. Beard shot a 68 in the first round, a 71 in the second round and a 69 in the final round for a 54-hole score of 208. Luke Muller finished the tournament in 14th with a 211 total, shooting -3, while Justin Gabbard finished 35th. Isaac Moody (+6, 39th) and Evan Stewart (+7, 49th) finished top 50.
Thursday, Sept. 12
- Women’s soccer beat Bellarmine 1-0. The Norse defense was huge, only allowing just one shot on goal in the match, which was saved by Tristen Cross. Donna Buddy and Megan Gessner also saw time in goal for the Norse. The Norse scored in the 74th minute on a corner kick from Lilly Yordy that was finished off by Maria Wiefering.
Friday, Sept.13
- Women’s volleyball lost to Marshall 3-2. Marshall took the first set comfortably but the Norse bounced back in the second set with a 26-24 win, led by four kills from Sydney Bray and three from Joy Banks. The Norse were dominant in the third set, winning 25-15 as Joy Banks posted six kills. The Norse battled Marshall in the last two sets but lost both. (25-21 4th set and 16-14 5th set). Joy Banks posted her third double-double of the season for the Norse, finishing with 16 digs and 17 kills, tying her season-high. Sydney Bray posted season-highs with 12 kills and six digs. Ava Hoying’s 12 kills marked a new season-high. Lainey Green had 30 assists while Torie Houston had 18.
- Women’s volleyball fell to Toledo losing 3-1. The Norse won the first set, winning 26-24 after going on a 3-0 run to win the set. Toledo won the last three sets comfortably, winning by more than six the rest of the sets. Allison Risley was stellar for the Norse, finishing with a season-high 20 kills, the highest single match total of any NKU student-athlete this season. Joy Banks finished the match with 8 kills and 14 digs. Three Norse posted 10+ digs, led by Lucy Cluxton’s season high 23. Torie Houston and Lainey Green combined for 33 assists.
Saturday, Sept. 14
- Women’s volleyball lost to Eastern Washington 3-1. Eastern Washington took the first two sets easily, before the Norse bounced back winning the third set 25-20. The Norse had an early lead in the fourth set and threatened to go to a fifth set, but Eastern Washington came back late, winning the final set 25-23. The Norse finished with 55 kills led by double-digit performances from Joy Banks (14), Sydney Bray (12) and Allison Risley (12). Banks finishes the game with another double-double, which was her fourth of the season. Lucy Cluxton topped her season-high in digs with 24. Ivey Stocks led the Norse in hitting percentage at .438, with nine kills and just two errors. Torie Houston and Lainey Green combined for 42 assists. They move to 2-7 on the season.
- Men’s soccer opened Horizon League play drawing scoreless against Robert Morris 0-0. Both Douglas Fajardo and Parker Vasic fired shots on target combining for three shots on goal. Nic Lemen posted a pair of saves in his second straight shutout. Lemen has not allowed a goal in over 200 minutes and has three clean sheets this season.
Sunday, Sept. 15
- Men’s golf finished the tournament with Zach Beard finishing top five. Beard T-4 finish after shooting even par across the three rounds. As a team, the Norse finished ninth out of 15 teams. Evan Stewart finished T-30 with a 225 total, while Justin Gabbard and Luke Muller finished T-47. Isaac Moody finished with a 236 total.
