Jalen Billups became the 24th member of the 1,000 point club at Northern Kentucky University Saturday in a 60-46 loss to Wright State at BB&T Arena.

Billups, who reached the 500 rebound career milestone a week ago, eclipsed the 1,000-point milestone with a dunk in the first half against the Raiders.

It was part of a strong first half for Northern Kentucky. NKU led by as many as seven and led 28-27 at halftime. NKU shot 63.2 percent in the first half.

The script was flipped in the second half. Wright State started the second half on a 15-4 run to take a 46-32 lead with 9:52 remaining.

The Norse (4-10, 0-3 in Horizon League) got the deficit to single digits on a couple occasions, but would not get closer than nine the rest of the way.

NKU shot just 22.7 percent in the second half, making just 5 of 22 attempts.

Billups led NKU with 9 points and 9 rebounds. Tyler White, Lavone Holland II and Cole Murray scored 8 points each.

Mark Alstork led Wright State with 18 points and 6 rebounds. JT Yoho added 13 points and 6 assists. Joe Thomasson had 11 points and 7 rebounds.

NKU continues its three-game home stand 7 p.m. Thursday against Youngstown State. The game will be televised on ESPN3.
