Cross country teams take sixth at Bluegrass
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The men’s and women’s cross country teams both placed sixth Saturday at the Bluegrass Invitational.
For the women, Jennah Flairty was the top individual finisher, placing 33rd in 18:37.00. Behind her was Kelly Burrow in 35th in 18:40.00. Jessica Tegge was 40th, Hannah Tobler was 41st, Kimmy Wolfe was 49th, Rylee Tanner was 52nd and Catherine Finke was 55th.
Eastern Kentucky won on the women’s side with 28 points, followed by Kentucky and Miami University.
Andrew Schille was the top men’s finisher for the Norse in 25th place in a time of 25:20.40. Brady Holmer was 44th in 26:04.10. John Michael Griffith was 46th, Izak Velasquez was 49th, Caleb Augustus was 51st, Blake Meyer was 54th and Michael Mangus was 55th.
EKU also won the men’s competition with 44 points, followed by Kentucky and Illinois.
Both teams return to action September 26 at the Friendship Invitational at Cedarville, Ohio.
