Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear announced the appointment of Shea Conley to Northern Kentucky University’s Board of Regents last month.
Conley will succeed former board member Rich Boehne and will serve on the board through the end of the 2029-2030 academic year.
Rich Boehne, a Highlands High School native, joined NKU’s Board of Regents in 2014 and served through June of 2024. In addition to his service to the board, Boehne has donated $1 million to the university, funding the Boehne Family First Generation Scholarship fund.
As a current attorney at Morgan & Morgan, Conley works to help his clients with personal injury, insurance disputes and product liability throughout the Commonwealth. He is recognized by his peers and local community as a leader in ethical standards and legal aptitude.
“Shea [Conley] has a distinguished career as a litigation attorney. He is dedicated to serving both the legal profession and community, which makes him an outstanding addition to our board,” said NKU President Cady Short-Thompson. “His extensive experience and commitment to excellence will be invaluable as we continue to advance NKU’s mission.”
Conley said that the welcome he received from both Short-Thompson and the board has been “enthusiastic and encouraging.” He said that he looks forward to guiding the university to a brighter future while upholding student-centered goals.
Conley’s appointment comes at a crucial time at NKU, as the university pushes for enhanced community partnerships amidst a growing student population.
“I look forward to contributing to the continued success of the institution, ensuring we uphold our student-centered mission,” Conley said. “I am excited to build on the strong foundation already in place and help guide the university toward an even brighter future.”
