UPDATE– Power has been restored to campus as of 8 a.m. Campus will remain closed until noon.
Due to a campus-wide power outage, Northern Kentucky University will be closed until noon on Wednesday, Nov. 29.
All classes and events taking place before 12 p.m. are canceled, according to a Norse Alert sent around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
While it is unknown what caused the power outage, nearly 1,000 Duke Energy customers are out of power as of 7:15 a.m. This number was at 3,000 just before 7. a.m., according to Duke Energy’s power outage map.
Facebook users responded to NKU’s social media post, with one user commenting, “The whole city is out!”
