SGA to host two town halls on student concerns, input
March 30, 2021
The SGA president-elect and vice president-elect, Aliya Cannon and Chris Roat, will join Dr. Eddie Howard, vice president of student affairs, in two virtual town halls that are focused on student concerns and input. The open meetings will be held on April 15 from 5 to 6 p.m. and April 20 from 4 to 5 p.m.
“With the election of the Cannon administration, we are poised to move forward with discussions around how to engage in civil discourse, how to expand senate representation, how to expand collaboration opportunities, and how to ensure that all student voices are heard,” Howard said in the email.
Following SGA’s temporary suspension for the semester, Howard said he has been speaking with both the current and incoming SGA administrations. Through these discussions, SGA leadership has identified a way to transition and provide opportunities of engagement with the student body. Howard said it is important to reinforce the role of student government in the campus community as well as within NKU’s governance structure.
The meetings will be open to students, faculty and staff. Links to these meetings will be shared to the campus community later this week.
