The English Language Learning Foundations awarded Leo Calderon the Make a Difference Award on Thursday, February 25. The award credits an individual who has made a notable difference, not only in the lives of English language students, but families as well.
The director of Latino Student Affairs received the award at the second annual recognition breakfast. The foundation recognized his efforts for working with corporations, non-profits and schools for on tackling the concerns and needs of the Latino community.
Along with the award ceremony, the breakfast included a silent auction and entertainment from the students of Withrow International High School. Also in attendance was former Cincinnati Bengal and lone Latino in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Anthony Munoz.
