Blanch Pringle-Smith, a coordinator in the Office of African American Student Affairs, is no longer employed by Northern Kentucky University.

It is unclear whether she resigned or was fired.

Zebulun Davenport, the vice president of Student Affairs, said Pringle-Smith’s situation is a personal matter and he is not at liberty to discuss it.

A silent protest was held near the Office of African American Student Affairs Feb. 11 for Pringle-Smith’s unemployment status at NKU.

According to the Office of African American Student Affairs Web site, Pringle-Smith, whom was hired by NKU in Fall 2008, was responsible for ‘creating and implementing retention programs designed to foster the academic, personal and leadership development of African American students.”

A public forum will be held at 5 p.m., Feb. 17 in Otto Budig Theater to discuss Pringle-Smith.
