The Northern Kentucky University Women’s Soccer team got the scoring started early in a 3-0 win over Ashland University, Oct. 1 in Ashland, Ohio.
Sophomore forward Kendall Day scored her fourth goal of the season in the ninth minute from 10-yards out against an Eagle defender, giving the Norse (7-2, 3-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference) a 1-0 lead.
The Norse would not look back as they scored two more goals in the game and shutting out Ashland (5-6, 2-4 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference).
Senior goalkeeper Angela Healy had four saves in the game giving her seven wins on the season.
Next for NKU is a matchup with GLVC rival Saint Joseph’s at noon Oct. 5, at the Town ‘ Country Sports Complex in Wilder.
