Approximately 400 students cast their votes during the Student Government Association fall elections Nov. 14 and 15.
Voter turnout almost doubled from last year, when 287 students voted.
Besides voter turnout, students running for office also increased, according to Steve Meier, associate dean of students. This election had 19 students running for the 15 senate spots open.
He added that this was a higher turnout than the fall 2006 elections when only 14 students ran. He attributed the increase to an increase in SGA competition.
The 15 senators elected to office were Matt Brosious, Megan Caddell, Erica Conroy, Jonathan Dodd, Colin Klayer, Melissa Koppenhoefer, Allison Morris, Paul Myers, Leigha Phelps, R. Chase Kendall, Tracy Osborne, Pavel Romero, Mike Shafer, Erzsi Sleder and Christopher Wallace.
The two elected judicial candidates were Brett Hardebeck and Michael Grote.
