The Men and Women’s Cross Country teams competed in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. Oct. 20.
The men’s team finished in second place with a score of 66, 25 points behind GLVC champions Southern Indiana, which has won the last four championship races, according to the NKU Sports Information website.
Junior Zach Koehler led the men overall running a time of 25:27 in the eight-kilometer race, placing fifth out of the 112 competitors.
On the women’s side it was Julianne Hoekzema leading the way with a time of 21:54, finishing in third place overall. The women’s team placed fourth out of 10 teams competing in the race.
Next for the NKU Cross-Country program is the Great Lakes Regional race, which is being held at Edwardsville, Ill. Nov. 3.
