Northern Kentucky University students have spoken.
The votes tallied at the mock elections held at universities throughout Kentucky Oct. 3 showed that students would like to see Gov. Ernie Fletcher re-elected to his office.
At NKU, Fletcher won against Democratic nominee Steve Beshear with 105 votes, while Beshear only got 91 votes.
The mock elections were held to get students more politically aware, said Alyse Bender, president of the Student Government Association.
NKU had the highest turnout, beating Western Kentucky University, Murray State University, University of Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky University.
Bender said mock elections were held last spring for the primary elections. However, few students voted.
She said that SGA plans to hold more mock elections in the future.
