The Anointed Voices Gospel Choir of Northern Kentucky University is hitting the big time with a new CD expected to debut in two weeks.
The 25-member choir, under the direction of Jonathan Golden, went to a studio at Brown Macke College to record their original piece entitled, “Lord You Are Holy.”
“I am so proud of the AV gospel choir for making an album. They are a really inspirational force on campus,” said junior Kennae Marks.
Michelle Peterson founded The AV Gospel choir in 1993.
Along with their original piece, they recorded a remixed version of “Come All Ye Faithful.” Their other piece, written by Golden, titled “I Don’t Care.”
Gregg Moore, the tenor section leader, feels that the AV gospel choir has played a big part in helping him remain spiritual while away from home in Providence, Ky.
“The Anointed Voices Gospel Choir is what caught my attention when I got here. It is one of the reasons I chose to go to NKU,” Moore said. “Since joining the choir, I have advanced both vocally and spiritually.”
The CD is scheduled to be released during the second week of May.
