In this issue, a tie-in with the Identity Crisis storyline, Wally West, the Flash, must face some harsh decisions that his uncle Barry Allen, the previous Flash, made as a hero.

West tries to comprehend why someone who devoted their life to protecting the world, would stoop to perform a sort of lobotomy on supervillains who showed no sign of rehabilitation.

West finds out his uncle made the choice after the death of his wife and an attack on his mother and father.

Fearing for the safety of his own wife, West gains some insight into his uncle’s decision and realizes he must face the same decision his uncle did years ago.
