The Northerner joined the LGBTQA+ Student Initiatives for LGBTQA+ History Month kickoff on Oct. 2. The event featured drag performances from various performers and even invited students to take the stage and become the stars themselves. A resource fair was present where students were able to talk to professionals and find safe places around campus. After brief remarks from Dr. LaVette Burnette, director of LGBTQA+ Services, Louisville-based drag performer DJ Syimone and company took to the stage to perform for students.
