Northern Kentucky shot a blistering 58 percent Friday night in an 88-62 rout of Tennessee Tech at BB&T Arena.

After shooting a strong 48 percent in the first half on the way to a 38-31 halftime advantage, the Norse (4-1) shot 70 percent in the second half.

NKU outscored Tennessee Tech 50-31 in the second half.

Rebecca Lyttle had a monster game for NKU, scoring a career-high 18 points, pulling down 8 rebounds and blocking 3 shots.

Two other Norse players finished in double figures in scoring. Christine Roush finished with 15 points, while Molly Glick knocked down a trifecta of threes, scoring 11 points.

Tennessee Tech (2-3) was led by Samaria Howard who scored 16 points. Tech shot just 29 percent in the second half (10/35).

Northern Kentucky scored 32 points off of 20 Tennessee Tech turnovers. NKU never trailed in the contest.

NKU returns to action 1 p.m. today at Robert Morris. The game will be broadcast on NECFrontRow.com. The Norse return home 7 p.m. Wednesday against the University of Kentucky.
